Our Musical Highlights of 2015!

2015 is coming to an end, and what a year it’s been for music! We’ve worked with some incredible artists, seen some amazing live shows, discovered some awesome new artists, and lost some music legends! It’s been a great year for albums, too, with some seriously awesome releases from both new and existing artists!

We’ve been listening to all sorts this year, but there are a few albums we just couldn’t stop listening to! The legendary Bjork returned with her ninth album, ‘Vulnicura,’ and what a beauty it is…and if you haven’t checked out the companion album, ‘Vulnicura Strings,’ make sure you do! We always love a bit of punk, so new punk duo Slaves’ album, ‘Are You Satisfied,’ went down a treat in the studio…we’ve got a feeling these boys are going to be big in 2016! Speaking of going to be big next year, the debut EP from UK Feds has been on repeat since it’s release a couple months back! Recorded here at Gospel Oak with Grammy Award winning Mike Exeter, give ‘Living In Anger’ a listen if you haven’t yet! And also flying the flag for Birmingham, Swim Deep’s ‘Mothers’ is an ‘ode to the universe’ (according to frontman Austin Williams) and we love it! We’ve also been loving the beautiful vocals on Laura Marling’s ‘Short Movie,’ grunge girls Wolf Alice, and Kurt Cobain’s ‘Montage of Heck’ Home Recordings!

Of course, these are just a few of the albums we’ve been listening in 2015! You can keep tabs on what we’re playing every week over on Spotify, with our Track Of The Week playlist! Find out more here.

We’d love to hear what you guys have been listening to this year, so do let us know!! Here’s to another exciting year of music!
